Happy New Year From Grand Lake!
Wishing you ALL the BEST in 2026!

Gooood Morning, And a HAPPY NEW YEAR to YOU!!
Here’s hoping you’ve all had a great holiday season, but now… the page is turned.
2026, here we come. Ready or not!
I’m still working on the new and improved website (it’s really close!), but wanted to get a quick email your way this morning just to check in and give you a look at things coming up in January.
I’ve got some black-eyed peas waiting for me (yes, for breakfast - just add some to your favorite salsa and they are great with eggs!), so let’s just dive in - and I’ll be back with regular programming next week.
This Weekend at Grand Lake
Lake Level - The lake level as of 7 am is 742.12’ with no generation happening. Lake temps are mostly in the upper 40s.
First Day Hike - It is going to be a beautiful day, so lace up your walking shoes and get to Bernice State Park Nature Center for their annual First Day Hike, TODAY (Thursday), at 11 am. Meet at the Nature Center, then hike the Nature Trail and get this year started the right way - with one foot in front of the other!
Grand Christmas Village - Open one last weekend, this Friday–Sunday. Enjoy ice skating for just $5, a giant snow mountain slide, an inflatable snow globe, the snowball range, and plenty of fun for the kids. Access to all inflatables is only $10, and YMCA members skate free.
Bluegrass Saturday Night - Doors open at 5 this Saturday at Grove Middle School with chili, pie, and coffee. Preshow with Rarely Seen at 5:45. Heartland Xpress starts at 6 PM. $5.00 admission. Door prizes at intermission.
Closed for a few months - A couple of local spots are closed for the next couple of months. Doc’s Bar & Grill at Shangri-La is closed until March 10th, and BOOM on Grand in Grove shared a post and said they are closed and would back in the spring. But Juan Montez at Red Arrow is OPEN as they get their new building built - and by all accounts it is coming along quickly!
Boat Show Season - ‘Tis now the season for boat shows, and I’ve no doubt there are several ‘Boat Guys’ that would love to sell you a boat. Here are the upcoming bigger shows in the region:
The Oklahoma Boat Expo at the Tulsa Convention Center is Jan 9-11.
The OKC Boat and RV Show is Jan 16-18 at the Bennett Event Center at the Fairgrounds.
The Tulsa Boat, Sport & RV Show is Feb 2-8 at Expo Square.
The first show in the new Wolf Creek Expo Center in Grove is scheduled to be the Oklahoma Tackle, Hunting, & Boat Show, Feb 12-15.
The Grove Home, Garden, & Travel Show is set for Feb 20 & 21 at Wolf Creek Expo.
Library - A new year and a new month at the always-busy Grove Public Library. The calendar is HERE.
