Labor Day Weekend at Grand Lake - 2025 Edition!

Gooood Morning!

Kind of wet this morning here at the South End, but… it is going to end, and roll on into a beautiful, warm, almost perfect fall-like Labor Day Weekend here at the lake.

How cool is that?

But, like I said, it has been raining here at World HQ near Ketchum. In fact, the ol’ rain gauge went from empty to overflowing at 5 inches in just a few short hours.

The good news is all of that rain here at the south end really doesn’t bring the lake up - so all systems are go for an awesome holiday weekend.

FYI, I think it is the last weekend of the year at Sharky’s, so heads up on that. But VIP Pizza will stay open late into Fall.

This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level - As of 9 am, the lake level is 743.1’ with no gates open and minimal ongoing generation. Lake temps are starting to cool off a bit, into the upper 70s. The lake is in great shape for your Labor Day weekend! You can always check the lake level yourself HERE.

Powerboat Fun Run - Get ready—this Saturday is the 2025 GLOC Powerboat Club FUN RUN! Meet at Honey Creek/The Drunken Rooster at 11 AM, then cruise safely to the dam and on to Hi-Lift Marina for food, giveaways, and $2,500+ in prizes. 🎉 Register by emailing [email protected] or at check-in—the first 50 boats registered receive two free event shirts courtesy of Cigarette Midwest! This free event is all about fun, safety, and closing out summer Grand Lake style—don’t miss it!

Dam Paddle - Don’t forget about the Grand River Dam Paddle happening Saturday morning on the river below the dam in Langley. You can get more info or sign up online HERE, or you can even sign up that morning on site. But get there early… there is a mandatory safety meeting at 8 am.

Jana Jae’s Fiddle Camp - Spend the weekend making music at Jana Jae’s Fiddle Camp & Music Fest, in Grove. Enjoy workshops, jam sessions, open stages, and lakeside pickin’ parties with nationally recognized instructors on fiddle, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, and more. All ages and skill levels welcome—more details HERE.

Saturday Markets - So many veggies and treats to be had at the Saturday farmer’s markets. 9 am is the start time for both the Grove Farmer’s Market on the Community Center Lawn and the Saturday Morning Market in Langley next to Reasor’s.

Fish Fry & Auction - The Ketchum Fire Department Fish Fry & Silent Auction at 210 Ketchum Ave happens Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. Enjoy all-you-can-eat fried fish for $10, family fun, raffles, and more—all to support our local volunteer firefighters.

Bullfest at The Lake - Wolf Creek Park in Grove is the place to be for Bull Riding excitement on Saturday. Gates open at 6, live music at 6:30, and the bull riding starts at 7:30. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, and fun for everyone. Get tickets HERE.

Library - August means the kids go back to school, but things don’t slow down at the library. Check out the calendar at the always busy Grove Public Library HERE.
