Alright… it feels a little early, but that’s OK. It is time to get this summer season started at Grand Lake!

Holiday weekends at the lake just hit different, and this one is no different.

All of your favorite and soon-to-be favorite spots on the lake are open, there is live music everywhere, and the forecast looks like the days will be beautiful, with maybe a few raindrops in the evenings.

If you are new around here, read on to find the full lineup of music for the weekend and the highlights to get you pointed in the right direction.

There are even some beautiful featured real estate listings down below, if you are ready to take the leap on that lake home.

Lake Level - The lake level as of 8 am is 744.4’ with no gates open and ongoing generation. The lake is rising just a bit, and if it comes up a little more, gates could be opened over the weekend. Lake surface temps are right around 70 degrees.

Legacy of Liberty - Shangri-La is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony at their Legacy of Liberty WWII Memorial Park on Friday, 10 AM to Noon. The program features the National Anthem performed by Ron Young and Timmy Moore, a presentation by the Grove Veterans' Ritual Team, and remarks from Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell and Shangri-La President & CEO Barry Willingham. A complimentary lunch follows the ceremony.

NO Fireworks - Unfortunately, the Memorial Day Fireworks show scheduled at Honey Creek Landing Marina is a no-go for this year. Something tells me that Grand Lakers will be shooting off their stash all over the lake, though… so, be ready, dog owners.

Pullen Strings - A LOT of the live music around the lake is mostly great musicians doing cover tunes. A bunch of sing-a-longs to songs we all know. But there is a band of local Ketchum guys who are fighting hard to make their own path with almost all original tunes, and their own spin on the mostly deep-cut covers they do play. You can catch Pullen Strings on Friday night at Scissortail Marina starting at 7 pm. Be warned… it is a rock-and-roll show!

Remember & Honor - Take a moment on Monday morning to honor those who gave everything. The annual Memorial Day Ceremony takes place at Veterans Honor Plaza (145 Cherokee Ave, Langley) on Monday at 10:00 AM, featuring Cherokee Nation Chief Chuck Hoskin as guest speaker.

Farmer’s Market - The Grove Farmer’s Market happens Saturday morning from 8 to 1 on the Downtown Square. And, the Saturday Morning Market has returned in Langley! Happening from 9 to Noon, right next to Reasor’s.
