This Week at Grand Lake - June 3, 2024

Good Morning!

The thunder is starting to roll here at the South end this Monday morning, but that’s alright — a little rain early in the week as we ramp up to an action-packed weekend won’t hurt us.

So, speaking of the weekend, does anyone have a bike I can borrow?

I’m hoping to do the Grand Lake Family YMCA Sprint Triathlon on Saturday morning. If I can get a bike, that is.

I can go to NWA or Joplin or Tulsa and rent one, but if someone around the lake has a road-ready bike that would take a 6’2” and 220ish guy for a 12-mile ride through the hills north of Grove Saturday morning, well, it would be appreciated.

Anyway, it will be a FULL weekend of stuff, especially in the Grove area, but before that, let’s navigate this week at Grand Lake.

And here is what you need to know:

Lake Level - As of 7 am, the official lake level is 744.3’ with some generation and no gates open. Water temps are in the low 70s.

Big Bass - In case you are wondering, it was a 6.29 lb bass that got the $100,000 payday this weekend at the Big Bass Bash. Second place, for $15k, was 6.28 lbs. Only .01 lbs and a difference of $85k!!

American Heritage Music Festival - The main event is Friday and Saturday at Har-Ber Village, but you can get a jump on things, and your weekend, Thursday evening at Snider’s Camp near Grove on Honey Creek. Details and the schedule can be found HERE.

Ann! - Grove Playmakers Theatre Present "Ann"! Ann Richards is delivered expertly by Ashley Davidson, complete with the 90s’ hair, the sensible shoes and a Texas drawl.
