This Weekend at Grand Lake
The Dog Days of Winter at Grand Lake
Good Morning & Happy Thursday!
I'm digging on the sunshine this morning. You? I've already stood out there for 5 minutes with that morning sun filling up my smiling face.
Alrighty then... Super Bowl (!), Valentine's Day, and a weekend of fun await. More on all of that below.
Where are all of my longtime Chiefs fans at?
My first game at Arrowhead was maybe 1980, maybe 81, against Terry Bradshaw and the Steelers. Chiefs got smoked.
Then, about 10 years after that, I actually got season tickets (it was actually a 'half-pack') and that was some great times in the dawn of the Marty Ball era.
I was in the 25th row, 50 yard-line behind the Raider's bench for a game back in the day, and just watching Bo Jackson was amazing (of course, used to get outfield seats at Royals Stadium just to watch him as well).
Other fun memories include being in the Budweiser Suite for another game against the Raiders (that one on a Monday night, oh boy!), a season opener against the Vikings when it was approximately 197 degrees, the Chiefs/Bills game in 93 in late November that was Joe Montana vs Jim Kelly, and then, it was an away game, but I was in Mile High for that legendary Monday night game between Elway and the Broncos and Montana and Chiefs. When was that? Maybe 95.In a weird twist, I haven't been to a game in a long time. Like over 20 years. That's OK though.
Anyway, I come by it organically when I say Go Chiefs! And thanks for letting me reminisce.
Now, let's get to what is really important, and that is what is happening this weekend and next week at Grand Lake!
