This Weekend at Grand Lake - BIG Meat!

Good Morning!

Happy Pi Day, and soon… St. Patty’s Day!

So, if you are in the Disney area, you already know what’s up… it’s Big Meat Weekend.

In years past they have estimated as many as 12,000 folks showing up in Disney on Saturday of the Big Meat Run - I don’t know if it is still that many or not - but it’s a lot. Many, many. Thousands. More on all that below.

But besides that, beyond this weekend, next week, during the week, is a busy time as it is Spring Break in Oklahoma.

So, you’ll find a lot of info below, and there is a lot to get to so I’m going to get to it.

Here is what you need to know for the weekend ahead at Grand Lake!

Lake Level - As of 7 am, the lake level is 742.07’ with no generation. Lake temps are rising quickly - mid-50s in some spots!

Big Meat Run - For those that don’t know, the Big Meat Run is a huge off-roading event happening this weekend in Disney and below the Pensacola Dam and spillways. Food trucks, entertainment, and thousands of buggies, bouncers and more. Oh, it’s a scene, man. Also, there are rules and regulations, including an area that is closed because there are a couple of baby eagles! At this point, I’ll just give you some links if you need the info. Be safe!!

Business After Hours - The South Grand Lake Chamber is hosting a big Business After Hours this Friday from 5 to 7:30 at the brand new Grand Towne Center, located a couple of miles north of Langley on Hwy 82. Food, drinks, networking - the whole deal. Participating businesses include Twisted on Grand, Geiser Plumbing, Grand Lake Hair Co., W.D. Construction, Bootylicious Boutique, and Pirate’s Cove.

Open for the Season! - The Quarterdeck at Tera Miranda Resort opens for the season this weekend! Hours are Friday 4-8; Saturday 11-8; Sunday 11-7. Saturday includes live music with Mason Jar Revival!

Reader’s Theatre - The next installment of Playmakers Reader’s Theatre performances happens this Sunday at 2 at Playmakers in Downtown Grove. More info on that is HERE.

Bassmaster Classic Next Week! - Next week, all eyes in the bass fishing world will be on Grand Lake. HERE is a great article from The Bass Cast on how the lake is primed and ready for the pros and some thoughts on what might happen.

Monkey Island Spring Break - Shangri-La Resort is pulling out all the tricks for Spring Break week next week. Here is what is happening:

• Spring Break Kids Camp at The Anchor

• Killer Keys Dueling Piano Show on Tuesday

• Hot Air Balloon Glow and Festival on Wednesday

• Shangri-La Food and Wine Festival on Saturday

Spring Break OUT - There are 4 days of workshops and fun for kids of all ages starting next Wednesday at Grand Lake State Park - Bernice Area. More HERE.

Briefs & A Look Ahead:

• Donation-based Yoga classes return tonight (Thursday) at 6 pm and Saturday at 10 am in the Black Oak Barn at Thousand Oaks Resort near Langley. All are welcome!

• This Friday is Oklahoma Education Day at Har-Ber Village from 9 am to 3:30. Tickets at the door and a great day of Oklahoma education to be had.

• The new Erickson & Co Mercantile will have its Grand Opening this Saturday from 10 to 6 at the new Shops at Grand Meridian near Duck Creek.

• Ugly’s Grill and Bar is open Saturday at 6 pm for a St. Patrick’s Day party.

• Trivia happens every Tuesday at The Anchor at 7 pm and the Game Show Competition happens Saturdays at 6 pm.

• There is a Wine Tasting and Food Pairing at White Buffalo Lodge in Grove this Saturday at 6 pm. Details on FB HERE.

• Inspirational Angler Clay Dyer will speak at Church of the Shepherd in Grove on March 20th at 6 pm. Don’t miss it!

• Lendonwood Gardens is looking for artists to display at Art in the Garden, which happens on May 4th.

• Celebrity Boxing Comic Con at Grand Lake? Yep, happening Memorial Day Weekend, and they are looking for vendors…
