Boat Show Season Wraps Up
Good Morning!
And a fine Thursday to all of you… it’s breezy out there in Grand Lake Land this morning, so hold on.
The good news for you is since it’s Spring Break, we’ve got the grandkids for a couple of days - which means that I’m not going to waste your time with a bunch of jibber-jabber. (And that might be the first time I’ve used jibber-jabber in an email!)
I need to hit the send button before the chaos ensues, so let’s get to it - here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake. Enjoy!

Lake Level - As of 6 am, the lake level is 742.52’ with ongoing generation. The water temperature is right around 50 degrees, and the crappie are still biting!
Grand Lake Boat & Sport Show - It’s moved to Vinita and the Craig County Community Center, at least for this year, but the Grand Lake Boat and Sport Show is the premier place to buy all of your lake toys under one roof in the Grand Lake area. And since it is going to be a little chilly this weekend - why not head that way. Show hours are 10 am to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. See you there!
Blood Drive - Friday from 10 to 2 at the Grove Library is your next opportunity to give blood - Do it!
Celtic Festival - It’s the first event of the year at Har-Ber Village in Grove on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm and all are invited to join for a day of history of how Celtic music made its way into modern Bluegrass. Lots of activities as well, including face painting, a children's carnival, bagpipers, a harpist and more - don’t miss the fun!
Ugly’s Boat Show & Party - The season kicks off on Saturday at Ugly John’s with a “Save Some Green” Boat Show during the day and a St. Patrick’s Day Party at the bar starting at 6 pm featuring The Fuzzy Leprechaun.
C.O.W. Day at The Anchor - Sunday is Change Our World Day at The Anchor with a day full of fun and competitions, including tournaments in pickleball, basketball, volleyball, a home run derby, and more. Come join the fun!
A Chocolate Affair - The Home of Hope Chocolate Affair is happening ive and in person next Wednesday, March 22nd, at 6 pm at The Craig County Community Center in Vinita. There will be vendors with chocolate, appetizers, wine, coffee, and more, plus a silent auction, with all proceeds benefitting Home of Hope. Get your tickets HERE.
Mardi Gras in March - The South Grand Lake Foundation is hosting a Mardi Gras in March Party - Mardi Gras food, wine and beer provided - with proceeds to benefit Ketchum Backpack Program. It’s $55 per person at the door and is happening next Thursday, the 23rd, at The Dream Catcher Event Center in Langley. They are asking for RSVPs on their FB event page HERE.
Rotary Scholarship Deadline - Eligible Grove High School seniors are strongly encouraged to submit their application for a Grove Rotary Scholarship before the deadline of Wednesday, March 22. Grove Rotary Club offers three college scholarships every year, with the 2023 awards each totaling $7,600 paid out over four years. Completed applications should be submitted to the high school guidance counselor’s office, said Pauline Hale, chair of the Rotary Education Committee, which administers the scholarship program. Application forms are available on the school’s web site at www.ridgerunners.net and on the Grove Rotary web site at www.groverotary.org.
