This Weekend at Grand Lake
An action packed June is here!
Those June sunrises, though…
Good Morning!
What a beautiful start to the month of June, arguably the busiest month of the year at Grand Lake.
And this weekend helps to prove that with all sorts of different fun things happening from one end of the lake to the other.
But first… a few reminders…
Head on a swivel, lifejackets on the kids ALL the time, turn on that blower, teach those teenagers how to drive those pwcs (PLEASE), and…
Stay off other people’s docks. Including commercial docks. If you don’t have business with those folks, then you don’t get access to their docks. It’s pretty simple folks, if it is not yours or you aren’t invited - stay off!
Oh, and there will be a LOT of anglers on the water who might not usually be around here this weekend for the Big Bass Bash, so, extra swivel on the ol’ head, mkay?

Lake Level - As of 7 am, the lake level is 744’, right on target for June 1. Lake temps are in the mid to low 70s. Enjoy!
Food Truck Friday - Downtown Grove is the place to be on this fine Friday for Food Truck Friday. This has grown into one of the biggest food truck events in the region, with just about every kind of truck and food option you could want. Plus, live music from Cool Breeze Band. Food trucks open about 5, and the music starts around 6. Come on!
First Friday Wine - The other first Friday of the month tradition in Grove, the First Friday Wine Share, is also tonight, this month happening at New Life Spa and Wellness Center in the South Point Center on South Main in Grove. This always fun event gets rolling at 6 and, as always, just bring a glass, your favorite bottle, and maybe a snack to share with others. Always a great time!
Free Fishing Days - This Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4th, is Free Fishing Days in Oklahoma! Anyone may fish in Oklahoma on these days without a state license - except for Lake Texoma and where city permits are required. But we aren’t either of those, so get out and catch you some. Speaking of…
Big Bass Bash - It’s not free, but the Big Bass Bash is here, with the catcher of the biggest bass of the weekend taking home $100,000, guaranteed, plus over $200,000 TOTAL in payouts. No pros allowed in this one folks - it’s for you and me. All the rules, details and registration info can be found HERE. And you can register in person today at Cherokee Casino Grove or this weekend at any weigh-in station.
Speaking of Safe Boating - Above I was talking about safe boating and head on a swivel. Well, Saturday at 8 am in Langley is your next chance to get those kids (and you!) in a Kyle Williams Safe Boating class from GRDA. Do it. I heard of a LOT of near misses out there last weekend. Camp Bandage - Free and open to the public, the 6th annual Camp Bandage safety camp and kid’s fun fair is set for Saturday from Noon to 4 at Grand Lake RV Resort. But don’t be fooled - there will be safety, health, and 1st aid training for kids of all ages. More details HERE.
Garden Party Reminder - If you’ve got tickets, the annual Lendonwood Gardens ‘Garden Party’ is Saturday at 5:30. Should be a great time for all at this annual fundraiser.
Markets - The Grove Farmer’s Market happens every Saturday morning from 9 am to 2 pm on the community center lawn in Downtown Grove. And, the Saturday Market in Langley is back, but in the Flex Time parking lot, not The Artichoke, on Saturday mornings at 9.
