This Weekend at Grand Lake

Good Morning!

Dodging a few raindrops around the lake this morning, but I’m a big sunrise guy (new day, new opportunities, etc), so that’s why you get a sunrise picture above.

We seem to be in that Grand Lake summertime pattern where it rains in the early morning hours, then gets Oklahoma hot during the day.

Gotta love it, am I right?

There is a big raft out this weekend, along with plenty of other live music and fun stuff happening.

So, let’s get to it, shall we? Here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake:

Lake Level - As of 8 am, the lake level is 744.1’, with some generation and the lake temps are comfortably into the 80s.

Shrimp Fest - Tonight (Friday!) is the Grove Rotary ShrimpFest, the big annual fundraiser that replaced the popular LobsterFest, at Shangri-La Resort, with doors opening at 5:30. Besides lots of shrimp, there are fantastic auction items that you don’t want to miss. As of a couple of days ago, the event is sold out, but you might check with your favorite rotarian to see if there have been any cancellations.

Har-Ber Village - As you probably know, Har-Ber Village was hit hard by that Father’s Day storm a couple of weeks ago and has been closed due to extensive tree damage. But, their Gift Shop will be open today and Saturday from 8 am to Noon selling office supplies and used furniture ahead of the Village re-opening next Thursday for your touring pleasure! A few exhibits will be closed and still under construction, but there will still be plenty to see.

Aquapalooza Returns - For you big raft-out fans, Saturday is the return of Aquapalooza to the waters of Grand Lake. The event has moved to the back of Ketchum Cove this year, officially hosted by Willow Park Marina. House Party will be kicking out the jams from 1 to 5. It’s a free gig, and raft-out areas will be marked as well as a designated swimming area. If you are coming by land, there will be a per-car parking fee of I think $13 in advance or $25 at the gate. And, heads up, the parking area might be a little muddy. Anyway, more details can be found HERE and you can find the event on Facebook for updates.

Car Show - The Grove Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association Car Show is Saturday at Wolf Creek Park from 8 to 3. Feast your eyes on some beautiful wheels or register your own vehicle for the event. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and golf carts are all welcome. Sign up to show off your whip for $25 today from 4 to 7 pm at Wolf Creek Park or beginning at 7 am on Saturday.

Saturday Morning Yoga - Saturday morning at 10 am at the Black Oak Barn at Thousand Oaks Resort near Langley. Open to all, and donations are encouraged. See you there!

Saturday Market in Langley - The Saturday Morning Market in Langley, located on the lot immediately to the north of Reasors, starts at 9 am. All of the goodies!

Grove Farmer’s Market - The Grove Farmer’s Market now has shade (!) and happens every Saturday morning from 9 am to 2 pm on the community center lawn in Downtown Grove.
