This Weekend at Grand Lake - July 12, 2024

Good Morning!

Alright, a friendly reminder here right off the top that I’m going back to just a once-a-week email next week, and that should hit your inbox on Thursday mid-morning.

It’s too bad things we thought were going to be happening this year, like Aquapalooza and the GLOC Shootout, aren’t going to happen after all.

Events like those absolutely bring folks to the lake, folks who spend money, that might not otherwise make their way here.

Anyhoo, let’s talk about what is…

This weekend, it is going to be hot, and it is going to be fast, thanks to those drag boat races happening in Grove. More on that below.

And, I’m starting to take a peek toward fall as I’ve updated the Events page with info on Pelican Fest, Pioneer Days, and a couple of benefit golf tournaments coming up.

Lake Level - As of 9 am, the lake level is 744.28 with no generation or gates open. The lake is summertime warm, with surface temps in the 80s all over.

Food Truck Friday and Show & Shine - Kick off the weekend with Food Truck Friday at the Grove Community Center Lawn tonight from 5-9 pm, and enjoy the drag boat Show & Shine happening at the same time in conjunction with the Wolf Creek Drag Boat Nationals happening Saturday and Sunday at Wolf Creek Park in Grove. Lots of food trucks, shiny boats, live entertainment, and community fun!

Drag Boat Nationals: As I just mentioned, the Wolf Creek Drag Boat Nationals are happening Saturday and Sunday at Wolf Creek Park in Grove. Gates open at 7 am Saturday and 8 am on Sunday. More details HERE.

• Beau’s Market & Deli is now open north of Langley on Hwy 82

• The Burger Shack is now open Wednesday through Saturday (maybe Sunday) at The Ketchum Eats Food Park. Think Lot-A-Burger!

• Visit The Grand Creamery for killer ice cream at The Shops at Grand Meridian.

• Targeted openings for Shops of Grove: Marshalls - 9/12; Ross - 10/11; Bealls - 10/12.

• Lawn-a-thon Family Fun games happen at The Anchor on Friday and Saturday afternoons, all summer long.

• Grove Farmer’s Market is at 8 am on Saturday in Downtown Grove.

• The Saturday Market in Langley happens at 9 am, just north of Reasors.

• Singo! happens at The Anchor Saturday afternoon at 3.

• Yoga in the Garden at Lendonwood Gardens happens Sunday morning at 10 at the Japanese Pavillion.

• Hearing rumors of a benefit poker run later in July or earl August. I’ll keep you updated.

• Grand River Dam Paddle is set to return to Langley in 2024 on Saturday, August 31st! Find out more HERE.
