Good Morning!

Alright, back in the Grand Lake saddle after a week away. Good to be back and we’ve got another great summertime weekend ahead.

But first…

Exciting News: Grand Lake Living Newsletter Mobile App Now Available!

I’m thrilled to announce that this Grand Lake Living newsletter now has its very own mobile app! This app lets you enjoy the content directly on your mobile device with a beautiful, optimized reading experience.

How to Access the App:

• Visit the newsletter website on your phone (you can do that by clicking the “Read Online” link at the top of this email or by clicking HERE), and you'll be prompted to install the app on your first visit.

• After the initial prompt with your first visit, if you don’t install the app, you can find the installation option in the dropdown menu in the top right corner of the mobile website.

(To be clear, this newsletter has its own, stand-alone website, separate from GrandLakeLiving.com. That might be changing in the future, though 😀 )

I think, THINK, that if you install the app you can unsubscribe from the emails and still get the notifications from the app when the new newsletter hits the digital streets every Thursday. But, I’m not sure about that.

We’ll figure that out as we go. And I won’t be blowing you up with notifications. At least not yet, lol!

Now, let’s get to it. Here is what you need to know for This Weekend at Grand Lake!

Lake Level - As of 7 am, the lake level is 744.2 with minimal generation and no gates open. The lake is summertime warm, with surface temps in the 80s all over.

Heroes Help - Tonight (Thursday!) is a special “Heroes Help” Shrimp Boil & Karaoke evening at Eddy’s Lakeside Bar at Shangri-La at 6 pm. DCCSAN staff will be on hand to help with the serving – and proceeds from the evening benefit DCCSAN, which is the Delaware County Children’s Special Advocacy Network. Such a great cause to support!

Food Truck Friday - The new Ketchum Eats Food Park is hosting another Food Truck Friday on, well, Friday, starting at 6 pm with a great selection of food and free live music from Harmonic Fusion, playing great tunes from the 60s through the 90s. Just drive through Ketchum, and you can’t miss it.

Route 66, BBQ & Billy Sims - The annual Route 66 Heritage Fest in Miami happens this weekend with lots of fun, lots of vendors, free concerts on Friday and Saturday nights, a car show, and the KCBS-sanctioned Smokin’ on the Route BBQ Cookoff. And… Billy Sims will be on hand both Friday night and Saturday afternoon in the Billy Sims BBQ tent. Sounds like a great weekend in Miami!

Scavenger Hunt - Sharky’s at Hammerhead Marina is hosting a Safari Scavenger Hunt this weekend. You can pick up the list of items beginning at 5 pm on Friday, or from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday. Check-in is at 7 pm on Saturday during the Safari party, with live music from Jump Suite Love starting at 8 and prizes for the best costumes. There is a $5 entry fee for the scavenger hunt (which you pay when you get the list), but the winner gets all the money!!

Glorious! - “GLORIOUS! The True Story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the Worst Singer in the World” is getting RAVE reviews and continues at Grove Community Playmakers this week with performances tonight and Friday night at 7:30 and Sunday at 2 pm. Next week there will be performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. Then, that’s it. Don’t miss it!! Picture in Scripture - The legendary Picture in Scripture theater near Disney continues its performance of Ruth: The Story of Redemption on Friday and Saturday nights. More details can be found HERE.

• The South Grand Chamber has its monthly membership meeting THIS MORNING at 11:30 at the GRDA Building in Langley.

• Beau’s Market & Deli is now open north of Langley on Hwy 82. Hours are 7 am to 5 pm daily, except closed on Wednesdays.

• Targeted openings for Shops of Grove: Marshalls - 9/12; Ross - 10/11; Bealls - 10/12.

• Lawn-a-thon Family Fun games happen at The Anchor on Friday and Saturday afternoons, all summer long.

• Grove Farmer’s Market is at 8 am on Saturday in Downtown Grove.

• The Saturday Market in Langley happens at 9 am, just north of Reasors.

• Yoga in the Garden at Lendonwood Gardens happens Sunday morning at 10 at the Japanese Pavillion.

• Next Wednesday (July 31) is “Movie Night on the Lawn” at The Anchor Lawn at Shangri-La featuring the classic movie Holes at 9 pm.
