This Weekend at Grand Lake
The Heat Dome is here!

Good Morning!
Wow - I don’t know if someone out there is sharing the website with people or what, but there are another 100 new subscribers just since Monday.
So, welcome all of you new folks and I hope you find what you are looking for in this newsletter.
This influx of well over 100 new subscribers in the last week has me fired up as well to get the website fixed.
Other than the obvious thin content (I haven’t updated the Events in a bit), there are some issues on that back end that need to be handled as well so I’m going to get after that and get both the tech side and the content side fixed up.
Be on the lookout for that, and I’ll add a list of upcoming events down below to help you plan a little bit.
In the meantime, enjoy the heat dome!
This is the PERFECT time of year for those early morning wake sessions, my favorite Grand Lake thing.
And, here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake…
Trouble on the Water?
Emergencies - Dial 911
Tow Boat US Grand Lake - (918) 782-8600
GRDA Non-Emergency - (918) 256-0911
This Week’s Sponsor:
Tow Boat US Grand Lake Offers 24/7 vessel towing, jumpstarts, fuel deliveries, salvage, recovery, and more. But you already know that, because you’ve already got your annual membership, right? Members get 24/7 365 days a year towing service, fuel deliveries, and more. For only $99 a year, you can have peace of mind knowing that their services apply to any boat you own, borrow, or charter. Visit their website HERE for more information.
Lake Level - As of 7 am, the lake level is 743.94’, with no generation and the lake temps are summertime warm. Borderline hot.
Route 66 Heritage Fest - If you love a good small-town festival, then head to Miami this weekend for the Route 66 Heritage Fest starting today with 2 full days of activities, family fun, and free concerts! Six bands will hit the stage over the 2 days to provide FREE concerts on south main street. Enjoy food trucks, vendors, 5K run, car & bike show, KCBS BBQ competition, Kidsville, and much more! HERE is the Facebook page where you can get more info.
Wine Tasting - As if you needed another reason to head to The Market at 216 Ranch on Monkey Island, they are having another of their famous wine-tasting and meat-eating events on Saturday. Caleb will be manning the grill and they will be pairing wines. Awesome. I think the fun is from 10 to 1.
End of Summer Vendor Event - (Quick side note - it is NOT the end of summer. Just sayin’) The Drunken Rooster is hosting a vendor event on Saturday from 11 to 5. Several area vendors will be on hand, so swing by, do a little shopping, and get yourself a cold drink or a hot lunch at The Rooster.
Pie in the Face - Ugly’s Grill and Bar is hosting a Pie in the Face fundraiser for “4 Love of Rescue”, an animal shelter in Grove on Saturday from Noon to 2 pm. They will even be bringing their adoptable animals out to the event. Later, they will host a “Christmas in July” event from 6 pm to midnight with Christmas lights, activities, and adult Santa! Oh, and a Shrimp Boil at 5 pm and live music at 8 pm.
Benefit Dinner & Auction - Saturday from 3 pm into the night is a Celebration of Life Benefit Dinner & Auction for Jon (& Tami) Wilson at Monkey Island Pub. Festivities will include a bike rally, pulled pork dinner, plus auction and raffle to benefit Monkey Island’s favorite couple. Jon will be there from appx 6 to 9 pm. Note, this is a CELEBRATION, so come prepared to laugh and share stories.
Har-Ber Village - The walk-through village is open again after being closed for a few weeks because of storm damage.
Saturday Morning Yoga - A free practice (well, donations are encouraged) takes place at 10 am every Saturday morning at The Black Oak Barn at Thousand Oaks Resort near Langley. Keep to the right and follow the signs to the barn. Everyone is welcome!
Saturday Market in Langley - The Saturday Morning Market in Langley, located on the lot immediately to the north of Reasors, starts at 9 am. All of the goodies!
Grove Farmer’s Market - The Grove Farmer’s Market now has shade (!) and happens every Saturday morning from 9 am to 2 pm on the community center lawn in Downtown Grove.
Nunsense II - Time is running out to see the latest Playmaker’s production. There are shows tonight, Sat night, and Sunday afternoon, plus next Fri and Sat nights. To reserve your seats now, call and leave a message at (918) 786-8950 or email [email protected].
A Place For The Young Adults - Sharing this again as Bella Donna’s in Grove is now designating Sunday evenings as Game Night for Young Adults. It's a Safe, Fun, Carefree Atmosphere where YA's can be themselves and not worry about being chased away and it's a safe haven from drugs, crime, and bad company. You can read the Facebook post announcing this great venture HERE.
