This Weekend at Grand Lake
Shopping and Splashing and Bashing

Good Morning!
Well, it’s still hot, but it sounds like there might be a little relief on the way.
But we should be used to the heat by now, and we’ll be dreaming of summertime hot in a few short months - so enjoy it while you can.
A couple of quick things - I’m still working on getting the website fixed up and updated. I had a big project for a client that slowed me down on that this week.
And, with a website that is over 10 years old, there is a lot of content, images, etc, that needs to be kept, merged, or purged. And going through that is a process.
Anyway, it’s getting there.
Finally, if you are out doing the garage sale scene tomorrow morning, we are having a little sale right at the 4-way stop near Hammerhead Marina.
Just some household consolidation type of things, including a nice dining room table with 6 chairs that really needs to go, and miscellaneous other ‘stuff’.
If you are out and about, stop by and say Hi and buy something. We might even have some donuts for you early birds.
Now, here is the important stuff that you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake…
Trouble on the Water?
Emergencies - Dial 911
Tow Boat US Grand Lake - (918) 782-8600
GRDA Non-Emergency - (918) 256-0911
Today’s Sponsor:
Do you know about Keagan’s Coffee, located just west of the intersection at Littlefield’s corner at the entrance to Monkey Island? If not, you should. They are a small-batch Specialty Coffee Roaster, Coffee Shop, and Bakery. That’s right - they are roasting their own beans. And the baked goods? Scratch-made. In-house. And, delicious. They also offer “Coffee-Cart Catering” for your local events. Oh, and they have a drive-thru! I think that covers it all. Stop by and see them today, and follow them on Facebook HERE.

Lake Level - As of 8 am, the lake level is 743.8’, with no generation and the lake temps are summertime hot.
FREE Community Health Fair - Today (Friday!) from 10 am to 2 pm a the Grove Public Library. Take advantage of free health screenings, learn about community resources, and score some cool swag! There is even a blood drive, and a car seat checkup for those of you with little ones. Don’t miss this great, free, event.
Tax-Free Weekend - Now, before you get fired up to go to the dispensary or liquor store and stock up, you should know that the tax-free weekend, which runs from today through Sunday, does not include all the things. Only a few things, actually. Like, basically, clothes and shoes that retail under $100. But, many places around the lake that sell clothes and gifts will be having sales this weekend, so get out there and support the local businesses while getting the kids and grandkids (and yourself) some new threads.
First Friday Wine Share - This month, the wine share gang heads to Stone Restore Solutions on Hwy 59 N in Grove. This is always a great time. Just bring yourself, a glass, your favorite bottle of grape juice, and maybe an appetizer to share. All are welcome at this popular monthly gathering.
Food Truck Friday - It’s time, so head to the Grove Community Center lawn downtown tonight from 5 to 9 pm for a great line-up of food trucks, live music from Jacob Clark, and the Grove Booster Club will be on hand doing booster club things. Bring your lawn chair and your appetite!
Splash Bash - It is another Splash Bash Saturday in Ketchum Cove. Constant Chaos will be bringing the musical heat starting at 1 and going until 5 right out there on the water by Hammerhead Marina and VIP Pizza.
Customer Appreciation Day - Grand Lake Boat Sales and Hi-Lift Marina are hosting a Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday from Noon to 3 with FREE beer (?), food, and music from Whiskey Poet Society. Go join ‘em!
Ice Cream Scavenger Hunt! - Get yourself (and the kids) to Har-Ber Village on Saturday from 9 am to 3:30 pm for an Ice Cream Scavenger Hunt. When you come in, let the staff members in the Visitor Center know you want to participate, and they will give you the details. Once completed, bring it back to the Visitor Center and get a delicious ice cream sandwich! Sweet! Normal admission rates will apply.
Saturday Morning Yoga - A free practice (well, donations are encouraged) takes place at 10 am every Saturday morning at The Black Oak Barn at Thousand Oaks Resort near Langley. Keep to the right and follow the signs to the barn. Everyone is welcome!
Saturday Market in Langley - The Saturday Morning Market in Langley, located on the lot immediately to the north of Reasors, starts at 9 am. All of the goodies!
Grove Farmer’s Market - The Grove Farmer’s Market now has shade (!) and happens every Saturday morning from 9 am to 2 pm on the community center lawn in Downtown Grove.
Nunsense II - Last call! Fri and Sat nights. To reserve your seats now, call and leave a message at (918) 786-8950 or email [email protected].
Coffee Table Book! - No, it’s not a book about coffee tables. It’s a book about the creation of Grand Lake - The Crown Jewel of Oklahoma, and the remarkable story of it’s creation. To claim a copy of what will surely become a collector’s item once again just reach out to The south Grand Lake Chamber via e-mail at [email protected]m or visit the chamber’s office in the GRDA Eco-Systems Building in Langley or place your order by telephone at 918-782-3214.
