Gooood Morning!
Well then - we had an awesome Labor Day weekend and then it got a little bumpy.
I hope wherever you are around the lake you didn’t have too much damage from that storm on Tuesday night.
We weren’t here, but it sure looks like it was a doozy.
Anyway, I’m back in the saddle and we’ve got a full Grand Lake weekend ahead.
And here is what you need to know…

Lake Level - As of 8 a.m., the lake level is 743’, which is the target elevation for this time of year. There is little to no generation and the lake is still nice and warm.
Mahogany and Chrome - Be on the lookout for those classic boats this weekend as it is time for the annual Mahogany and Chrome Boat Show. The “Open to the Public” viewing of the boats is Saturday from 9 to 3 at Arrowhead Yacht Club. AND, Arrowhead is hosting a Classic Car Show at the same time. Lots of cool boats and vehicles to be seen. Don’t miss it!
Chili Cook-Off - The 18th annual Road Kill Chili Cook-off is Saturday from 11:30 to 1 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. Contact the Jay Chamber at (918) 253-8698 for details and to enter.
Shrimp Boil - Saturday at 5, head over to Willow Park Marina near Ketchum for a Shrimp Boil and live music from Pullen Strings. A good time is sure to be had!
Bars and Restaurants - Here are some updated hours for popular spots around the lake:
Mooney’s - Closed Mondays, Open at 4 on Tues & Wed, Open at Noon Thursday through Sunday. Kitchen closes at 9 nightly.
Blind Swine Duck Creek - September Hours: Fri: 11am-11pm, Sat: 9am-11pm, Sun: 9am-10pm
Sharky’s - Closed for the season. But VIP Pizza is STILL OPEN.
Eddy’s at Shangri-La - Closes for the season this Sunday
Chickanellas is now open at their new Monkey Island location
Taste of Grand - It was announced yesterday that there will be no Taste of Grand this year as there is not a back-up venue in case of inclement weather with the sale of the Grove Civic Center. So… mark your calendars for September 28, 2024!
Saturday Morning Yoga - A free practice (well, donations are encouraged) takes place at 10 am every Saturday morning at The Black Oak Barn at Thousand Oaks Resort near Langley. Keep to the right and follow the signs to the barn. Everyone is welcome!
Grove Farmer’s Market - Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the community center lawn in Downtown Grove.
