This Weekend at Grand Lake

Gooood Morning!

These past few mornings have been awesome - the first signs of fall always feel good. At least I think so.

So… Thank You to all who voted, and by an overwhelming majority (73.68%), with over 190 votes tallied, moving to a Thursday-only email is the clear winner.

With that, the format of these emails will change a bit over the coming weeks.

I’ll likely start including two “featured sponsors” and also do my best to take a peek at what is happening early in the next week around the lake.

We’ll figure it out as we go - and, as always, your input is welcomed - just reply back to these emails and let m eknow what you want to see.

That said… I’m getting a late start today, so let’s get to it.

It feels like a pretty quiet weekend, might be a bunch of folks headed to Born and Raised in Pryor — anybody got a couple of extras for Saturday? Reply back and let me know — but here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake:

Lake Level - As of 8 a.m., the lake level is 743’, which is the target elevation for this time of year. There is little to no generation and the lake is still nice and warm.

REC Day - Today (Thursday!) is REC Day from 2 to 6 pm, with 4 different convenient drive-thru locations for you to choose from. Get all the details, including the info on over $25,000 in prizes, HERE.

Cabaret - “A Night To Dismember” happens tomorrow (Friday!) night at Playmakers in Downtown Grove at 7:30 pm. The Cover Charge is only $10 but seating is very limited. In fact, it might already be sold out. Call to find out (and leave a message) at (918) 786-8950 or email groveplaymakers@yahoo.com.

Bars and Restaurants - Here are some updated hours for popular spots around the lake:

• Bella Donna’s in Grove has temporarily closed and is apparently moving to a new location. I’ll keep you updated on that.

• Mooney’s - Closed Mondays, Open at 4 on Tues & Wed, Open at Noon Thursday through Sunday. Kitchen closes at 9 nightly.

• Blind Swine Duck Creek - September Hours: Fri: 11am-11pm, Sat: 9am-11pm, Sun: 9am-10pm

• Sharky’s - Closed for the season. But VIP Pizza is STILL OPEN.

• Eddy’s at Shangri-La - Closes for the season this Sunday

• Chickanellas is now open at their new Monkey Island location

Yoga - A free practice (well, donations are encouraged) takes place at 6 pm on Thursdays and 10 am every Saturday morning at The Black Oak Barn at Thousand Oaks Resort near Langley. Keep to the right and follow the signs to the barn. Everyone is welcome!

Grove Farmer’s Market - Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the community center lawn in Downtown Grove.

Food Truck Tuesday - Next Tuesday, the 19th, is another Food Truck Tuesday at Langley City Park with lots of food trucks, games for the kids, and fun for all. Let’s eat!

Cedar Port Customer Appreciation Party - The Cedar Port Marina and Boat Sales Customer Appreciation Party is next Saturday, the 23rd, with killer BBQ from the Smoke Whisperer and live music from House Party starting at 6 pm. Please RSVP to Cedar Port Marina at 918-435-8250 if you will be attending.
