This Weekend at Grand Lake
Oooh, there's a chill in the air...
Well then, that really is an arctic blast, isn't it?
It's alright though, maybe a little snow, not too much, a few days of cold and then we'll be back to the 40s and 50s and brown hue of an Oklahoma winter we all know and tolerate.
Right out of the gate... Merry Christmas! Or, Happy Hanukkah! Or, for those of you who will celebrate with some friendly feats of strength and a healing airing of grievances... Happy Festivus!
Whatever your flavor, the very best from my family to yours this holiday season.
As you'd expect, it will be a pretty quiet weekend around the lake, with folks spending time with family and friends.
But there are things to tell you about, so read on down below for what you need to know for the weekend at Grand Lake.
And, at this point, it's all systems go to unveil the all-new Grand Lake Living website by this time next week. Yikes - I better get busy!
These emails will continue to evolve as well, and I'll be asking you for some input in the weeks ahead.
But for now... be safe, be well, and enjoy your holiday weekend!

Christmas Parade - It feels like it might be a good weekend to watch a little TV, and, hey, Grand Lake will be on there. Specifically, the annual Duck Creek Lighted Christmas Boat Parade. You can catch it at these times and places:
No Skating! - The Grove Ice Rink on the City Hall lawn has been a huge hit, but it won't be this weekend. Too cold. They will be back next week, though. Skate rental is available and it will be open to the public from 4 to 9 on Fridays and Saturdays and 1 to 5 on Sundays through January 8th.
Fishing for Blues - One of the great sponsors of the Grand Lake Living website and brand - Tommy Vaughn at No Wake Guide Service, was recently featured in a great 10-minute video on YouTube about chasing the blue cats in the Oklahoma winter. If that's your cup of tea, check it out:
Winter Wonderland - The annual Pine Lodge Resort Winter Wonderland light display continues nightly through New Years. This is a Christmas light display you don't want to miss!
Park of Lights at Twin Bridges State Park is open nightly 6-9 pm thru December 30th. So many beautiful holiday displays. The participants have truly outdone themselves! Be sure as you drive thru to tune your radio dial to 91.1 to listen to holiday music! Donations are appreciated at the exit.
