This Weekend at Grand Lake - Happy New Year!

Good Morning!
I hope you had a great Christmas, but as is the norm around here, we are looking ahead - and that means a new year and a festive weekend at Grand Lake!
(Well, a quick look back as John says Thank You to all who clicked through and voted for him in the TotalSUP awards last week. He’s in the lead with a few days to go!)
But, we are on to a festive New Year’s weekend around the lake, and looking ahead to another great year of Grand Lake Livin’.
There will be some old things returning anew in 2024, like the Bassmasters Classic and the GLOC Shootout; plus all of your annual favorites, like the Big Bass Bash, Grand Jam Music Fest, Aquapalooza, (and, maybe the return of Rock The Dock); and, of course, Fireworks, Pelican Fest, and so much more.
I’ve done what I can to give you a head start on planning for the new year on the Events page of the website HERE. Go check it out and start getting excited and thinking warm thoughts NOW!

Lake Level - As of 9 a.m., the lake level is holding steady at 742.71’, with ongoing generation. Water surface temps are primarily in the mid-40s. By the way, saw a post saying right now, with generation happening, is a GREAT time to check out the Bald Eagles down on the river below Pensacola Dam.
Ice Skating! - It’s the last weekend of ice skating at the Grove Ice Rink on the Community Center Lawn in Downtown Grove: Friday 6-10 PM, Saturday 3-10 PM, and Sunday 3-8 PM.
Pub Sale - As many of you know, it’s the end of an era at Monkey Island Pub. And with that, comes the need to liquidate. So, there is a huge inside garage sale at the pub happening now through December 30th, from 1 pm to 4 pm each day! Decorations, some furniture and a lot of everything. It all must go, so go get yourself some memorabilia, or maybe some equipment if you need it.
First Day Hike - On Monday the 1st, head to the Bernice Nature Center for the First Day Hike at 11 am. It’s a one-mile adventure down their paved nature trail you don’t want to miss. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring a water bottle!
Lakeside Learning Center - Grand Nation’s new Lakeside Learning Center in Ketchum is now taking applications for children ages new-born to 5 years old. Get details and fill out the application HERE.
The Grove Public Library always has a busy week with activities for every age group. Check out their FB page HERE for ongoing events and details.

Yoga at Thousand Oaks Resort in Langley happens tonight (Thursday) at 6 pm at the Black Oak Barn in the back of the resort. Come on!
Tuesday Trivia at The Anchor is done until January 9th.
The Grand Getaway Mercantile is now open just north of Sailboat Bridge in Grove. Go check them out!
