This Weekend at Grand Lake - August 7, 2025

Gooood Morning!

85 years of Grand Lake - that is pretty darn cool.

And to celebrate, the Arrowhead Boat Sales crew is throwing a party this weekend in Lawhead Hollow.

You and I know that place as Leon Russell Cove.

More on that below, but it is going to be an absolutely perfect night for an overnight raftout and then following that up with a Saturday concert and party that you can only get to by water.

Sounds like some perfect Grand Lake Livin’ to me.

Oh, and don’t forget Friday night’s full moon.

So, yeah, it is a GREAT time to be at Grand Lake, and here is what you need to know for the weekend ahead!

This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level - As of 9 am, the lake level is 743.7’ with no gates open and minimal ongoing generation. Lake temps are in the 80s. Summertime Perfect! You can always check the lake level yourself HERE.

Grand Opening & Open House - It’s a party in Langley this afternoon and tonight (Thursday!) from 3:30 to 7:00 PM for a Grand Opening celebration and Open House at Grand View Landing! Tour the spaces, meet the teams from Grand View Realty, Massage Time at Grand Lake, Awaken Wellness, Relative Roots Salon, and South Grand Vision, and enjoy food, drinks, and great giveaways. Don’t miss this fun afternoon of community and celebration!

Woodstock on the Water - Woodstock on the Water is back for Grand Lake’s 85th birthday, and it’s the biggest raft-out party of the year—boaters only! Join the celebration Friday night and Saturday at Leon Russell Cove (Lawhead Hollow) with live music from the deck of Leon’s historic home. Festivities kick off Friday night with a cookout and overnight raft-up. On Saturday from 1 to 5 PM, enjoy an all-star lineup led by the Barrett Lewis Band with special guests. Pizza and merch will be available from the Arrowhead Skiff. The only way to attend is by boat, and the cove fills up fast—so get there early and don’t miss this epic celebration of Grand Lake’s music, memories, and 85-year legacy.

Birders Meeting - Join the Friends of Grand Lake Audubon Society for their August meeting this Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Grove Community Center. Guest speaker Amanda Markey, Park Naturalist at Bernice State Park, will share insights about her life as a Park Ranger and the incredible birding and nature opportunities at the park. Everyone is welcome—come enjoy a great program, connect with fellow nature lovers, and support the chapter!

Rodeo - This Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo continues Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights in Vinita. Good, clean, countrified fun for sure!

Saturday Markets - So many veggies and treats to be had at the Saturday farmer’s markets. 9 am is the start time for both the Grove Farmer’s Market on the Community Center Lawn and the Saturday Morning Market in Langley next to Reasor’s.

Grand River Dam Paddle - The GRDP is back for its 3rd year on the Grand River below the dam. It doesn’t happen until the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend (Aug 30th), but now is the time to get signed up today for this awesome Grand Lake event HERE.

Library - August means the kids go back to school, but things don’t slow down at the library. Check out the calendar at the always busy Grove Public Library HERE.
