This Weekend at Grand Lake - July 3, 2025

The July 4th Celebration Starts NOW!

Gooood Morning!

I won’t take up your valuable lake time with my jibber-jabber this morning, we’ll just get right to things.

Real quick, though, the lake level is finally dropping pretty quickly — it is down a ½ foot overnight — so hopefully those boat ramps and dock walkways and such that you haven’t been able to access for a while will be available later today or tomorrow.

But read on for the latest on the return of a legendary Grand Lake business, your on-the-water fireworks celebrations, and, of course, your full listing of live music and happenings all over the lake this weekend.

Happy Independence Day, friends. Thanks for reading and being a part of this journey.

Oh, and don’t forget about the special Duck Creek boating rules in place for this weekend. You can see those HERE.

Now, let’s have some fun… but be careful out there. There is still a lot of debris.

And make the absolute most of your Grand Lake Livin’!

🌟 Featured Sponsor: Dripping Springs Marina & Resort 🌟

Wait… WHAT? It’s TRUE!

Just opened last weekend and already making waves, Dripping Springs Marina & Resort, right next to the bluff in ‘The Drip’, is back and ready for you! Fuel up (87, 89, 91 & diesel), grab ice, cold drinks, snacks—even Dippin’ Dots— (no beer yet, but it is coming) and slide into one of 48 covered marina slips or 6 courtesy slips that stay accessible in high water. Big plans are in motion—cabins, RV pads and more—so every visit feels brand-new. Slips are filling fast, so cruise in or call today and claim your spot on the lake!

Join their Facebook Group HERE to stay up to date and be in the know on all the great things they have coming, and be sure to stop in and say HEY when you get the chance.

And, this weekend, shoot them a message or call at 785-554-2141 and they will DELIVER TO YOU (well, if you are in the cove) what you need - ice, Dipping Dots, sunscreen - whatever it might be. Awesome!

This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level - As of 9 am, the lake level is 751.2’ with gates open on both the dam and east spillways, and they are dropping the elevation about as fast as they safely can. Lake temps are in the mid-70s. Still some debris out there, so be careful - especially at night. Oh, and if you want to keep track of the lake level yourself, HERE you go.

Fireworks! - And, here we go. I don’t keep track of the fireworks shows happening in the towns around the lake - just the shows on the water. Here’s what I’ve got for you:

  • Grove’s July 3rd Celebration at Wolf Creek Park is tonight (Thursday!) with the fun starting at 6 with live music, free watermelon, and then wraps up with the fireworks at dark.

  • Duck Creek Fireworks are Friday. Click HERE for the schedule of events, from the fly-in at Ketchum Airport to the airshow to the fireworks.

  • Lots of shows (both organized and unorganized) on Saturday:

    • Grand Lake Fireworks in Disney have raised more money than they ever have before - by a LOT. It should be a great show between the spillways!

    • Monkey Island Fireworks & Family Fun Fest has a full evening planned with live entertainment, carnival games, tasty treats, and the fireworks over Shangri-La at dark.

    • Gran Tara, Horse Creek, and Blue Bluff Harbor all have their shows on Saturday as well.

Dam Tours - GRDA is no longer able to offer the free walk-up tours of historic Pensacola Dam, however, some pre-arranged tours are still offered for groups of 10 or more, Monday – Friday between 8AM and 4PM. Please contact [email protected], (918) 981-8473 for more information.

5th of July Bash - The George L. Husong VFP Post 8380 at 33420 S 620 Rd in Grove is hosting a 5th of July Bash Saturday at 2 pm. There will be food trucks, fun for all, and live music from Beaty Creek Band and Kelly Luttrell.

Markets Roll On - More and more summertime treats are showing up at the Saturday farmer’s markets. 9 am is the start time for both the Grove Farmer’s Market on the Community Center Lawn and the Saturday Morning Market in Langley next to Reasor’s.

Library - It’s July and that means new things at the Grove Public Library. Check out the July Calendar of Events HERE.
