Goooood Morning!

If you were here last weekend, you already know that was about as good as it gets. Grand Jam packed the back of Duck Creek with a bunch of boats and a whole bunch of people, and there were more boats on the water than any time since the Fourth.

Good news: this weekend looks even better. Today and tomorrow are proper late-July cookers in the mid-90s, but then it backs off — Saturday and Sunday should sit in the mid-to-upper 80s with lows in the 60s, sunshine, and light wind. In August. In Oklahoma. Read that twice.

And there's plenty to fill it with. The Wolf Creek Expo Boat Show takes over Grove for three days (free admission, in the building AND in the water), Framing the Red plays right on the water at Ghost Hollow Saturday, and Friday and Saturday nights are both stacked with around a dozen live acts each.

Let's get to it! Here is what you need to know for THIS Weekend at Grand Lake:

🛶 Featured Sponsor: Grand River Dam Paddle

Registration is open for the 4th annual Grand River Dam Paddle, happening Saturday morning, September 5th (Labor Day Weeknd), and this one's built for everybody — not just racers. Canoes, kayaks, pedal drives, paddleboards, and tandems all compete together, and you pick your distance: a Kids 1K, a 5K, or the 11.5-mile long course. The route runs down a gorgeous stretch of the Grand River just below the dam where bald eagle sightings are common.

Every registered paddler gets a 2026 race shirt, a swag bag, and a raffle ticket. Every finisher gets an award, with handcrafted trophies for the top three in each category and a candy lei for every kid.

Grab a friend, grab a boat, and go sign up — then tell somebody else to do the same.

Lake Level - The lake level as of 8 am is 744.16’ with no gates open and intermittent generation. For those who follow this stuff, they have updated this page showing current water levels. The lake is in perfect mid-season condition, with temps in the 80s. Get out there and enjoy!

⚓ Wolf Creek Expo Boat Show - Nichols Marine, MarineMax, and Toons are bringing dozens of boats — every size, shape, and model, all discount priced — both inside the building and in the water. It's a Shop, Drive & Buy setup that opens at 10 am Fri, Sat & Sun: walk the 2027 models, take the one you like out on Grand Lake for a test drive, and take it home the same day. Hosted by the Grove Convention & Tourism Bureau. No charge to get in, which is either great news or a serious problem depending on your willpower.

🎸 Birthday Bash on the Water - Fill the boat, bring the floaties, and post up at Ghost Hollow (Just a little south of Dripping Springs) while Framing the Red plays their original Southern Sleaze Rock right there on the water. It is Saturday, free, all day, and boat access only. Music starts around noon.

🎭 A Wrinkle in Time - The final performances of this Playmakers' run happen tonight (Thursday) and Friday night and Sunday afternoon. $15 adults, $8 students. Reservations at (918) 786-8950 or [email protected].

🍹 Around the World Cabaret - The Playmakers are kicking off a four-part cabaret series next Friday, August 7th at 7:30, and the first stop is Latin America. Mixologist Rick DuBois is running the drink menu — admission gets you a Margarita from Mexico or a Macua from Nicaragua, then it's on to Brazil for a Caipirinha and a Batida, with a Pisco Sour up for grabs in the live auction. Every guest gets a passport that gets stamped at each of the four cabarets, and the most stamps by November takes home a big prize. Reservations: (918) 786-8950.

Farmer’s Markets - The Grove Farmer’s Market happens Saturday morning from 8 to 1 on the Downtown Square. And, the Saturday Morning Market has returned in Langley! Happening from 9 to Noon, right next to Reasor’s. And don’t forget about Piguet’s Farm Store over north of Vinita - open Friday at 4 pm and Saturday at 8 am.
