Goooood Morning!

So there was some news around the lake that got a lot of run on the Facebooks last weekend… it looks like someone is getting the Cherokee Queen ready for business again.

Not sure who. Not sure why. Not sure when.

But she was out running the lake last weekend (lots of pictures to prove it), and word on the street is it is coming back soon - like, July, soon.

That will be a great option for a little lake time for those that don’t have, or want, a boat.

I’ll do my best to keep you updated.

Meanwhile, in the here and now, the lake level is coming down, and it’s Father’s Day Weekend!

So here is what you need to know to make this a GREAT weekend at Grand Lake!

Lake Level - The lake level as of 6 am is 747’ with 3 east spillway gates partially open. The lake level is going down, but slowly. Lake surface temps are in the mid to upper 70s. The lake is a little murky, and be aware of debris.

Major League Fishing - The pros are on Grand Lake this week, and Wolf Creek Park in Grove is your front-row seat! The MLF Zenni Optical Stage 6 Presented by Toyota runs today (Thursday!) through Sunday, with 51 of the world's best professional bass anglers launching each morning right here on our water. Head out to Wolf Creek Park (963 N 16th St) to watch the morning launch, then stick around for when the pros bring their fish across the stage. And then….

Fishing Show - Saturday and Sunday (June 20–21) from 3–6, the free Fishing Show expo kicks off at Wolf Creek Park — pro autographs, free food, Zebco rod & reel giveaways for kids, a fishing derby, casting contest, and more. Free admission all weekend.

Summer Sports Block Party - Head over to The Anchor at Shangri-La on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. for the Summer Sports Block Party! Compete in 3v3 Wiffle ball, free-throw contests, and long-drive challenges in the simulator bays, with prizes, game cards, and food vouchers all up for grabs. Great way to cap off the weekend!

Strut Your Mutt - Calling all dogs — and the people who love them! The 2nd Annual Strut Your Mutt is happening Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Foundation Free Will Baptist Church in Afton (23800 US Hwy 59). It's a full day of fun with dog contests running throughout the day — Happiest Dog, Ugliest Dog, Best Costume, Owner-Dog Look Alike, and more. Don't miss the Weenie Dog Race at 1:00 and live auctions at 1:30! Food trucks, vendor stalls, a silent auction, and yes… Chicken Poop Bingo. It's all a fundraiser for Versa K-9 for Vets NE OK. Farmer’s Markets - The Grove Farmer’s Market happens Saturday morning from 8 to 1 on the Downtown Square. And, the Saturday Morning Market has returned in Langley! Happening from 9 to Noon, right next to Reasor’s. And… Piguet’s Farm Store is open this weekend until 2 on Saturday.
