Goooood Morning!

Well then, it’s been a little wet around here. And I’m not talking about the lake!

BUT, after a few more showers and storms on this Thursday and overnight tonight, it looks like it is going to be mostly drying out for a while, leading us into a great July 4th week!

The lake is certainly going to be a hip, hop, happening place the next couple of weeks, and the 10-day forecast on my phone has a lot of sunny icons.

So we’ve got that going for us, which is nice.

With all of the rain we’ve had and up in the watershed, I do feel obligated to tell you to keep your head on a swivel and on the lookout for debris.

But I don’t have much else to say, so let’s just get to it… Here’s what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake, and on into next week!

Lake Level - The lake level as of 10 am is 746.88’ with 7 spillway gates open between the dam and east spillways, moving out about as much water as is coming in right now. Lake surface temps are in the mid to upper 70s. The lake is a little murky, and be aware of debris.

Food Truck Friday - Ketchum Eats Food Park is hosting Food Truck Friday this week from 5:30–7:30, and it's a great way to kick off the weekend. Grab food from Red's House BBQ, Casa Garcia, and Cregan's Confections & Ice Cream, then pull up a lawn chair and enjoy live music by Kevin Hannah & The Road Benders — rock, rockabilly, country, and a little funk thrown in for good measure. It's BYOB and free to attend!

Formula Rendezvous - Formula boat owners and enthusiasts, this one's for you! The Formula Rendezvous kicks off Saturday at Honey Creek Landing Marina with a Meet & Mix from 11am–1pm — complete with a complimentary taco bar and registration at the Drunken Rooster. At 2, the group heads out for a run across the lake to Woodard Hollow, then ties up in front of the Elite Dock Barge from 3–6 pm for a live band, drinks, and great company on the water. Peanut Regatta #4 - The Peanut Regatta series continues Saturday with Race #4 — a sailboat run from the mouth of Honey Creek to Sailboat Bridge and back (wind and weather permitting). Captains Meeting is at 10am at Grand Lake Sailing Club with the race starting at 11am. Whether you're racing or just watching from the shore or the water, it makes for a great scene — and a great photo op!

Open House - Marina Del Rey Resort is throwing open the gates Sunday from 11am–6pm for a free open house, and it's worth a look if you've ever been curious about the place. Come check out the pickleball courts, relax by the pool, tour the marina, and explore their RV sites and cabins. Indigo Tie Dye Company will also be on hand for some added fun. Annual spots are going fast — only 18 remain — so if you've been thinking about making Grand Lake your regular home base, this is a great chance to see what they've got.

Fireworks - Wondering about fireworks next week? Check out the Events page of the website for info on all (I think) of the displays happening right around the lake, including the biggies like Duck Creek, Monkey Island, and Disney. If I’m missing any - let me know.

Farmer’s Markets - The Grove Farmer’s Market happens Saturday morning from 8 to 1 on the Downtown Square. And, the Saturday Morning Market has returned in Langley! Happening from 9 to Noon, right next to Reasor’s. And… Piguet’s Farm Store is open this weekend until 2 on Saturday.
