This Weekend at Grand Lake - June 26, 2025

Good Morning!

Up and at ‘em early this morning… got to get outside and do some things before the heart of the day muggies. Know what I mean?

So, summertime is here and it couldn’t be better.

The lake is hopping, fish are biting (so I hear), and there is just something about the warm summertime mornings that makes you feel good. At least, it makes me feel good.

Speaking about the lake hopping, more raft-out fun is ahead this weekend at the big Grand Jam on the water concert in Duck Creek.

More info on that is below, but if you plan on heading towards Harbors View Marina or Ugly John’s by boat on Saturday, expect a whole bunch of boats.

Oh yea… next week is the 4th!

I don’t bother with telling you about all of the towns around here doing fireworks, I try to just tell you about the on-the-water shows.

This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level - As of 5 am, the lake level is 750.9’ with some gates slightly opened and generation ongoing. There is one gate open on the dam and one on the east spillway, but they aren’t moving much through as there still isn’t really anyplace to move that water. But the lake is dropping slowly, stabilizing, and temps are in the mid to upper 70s. Nice!

High School Fishing - Happening now…. all those boats are full of kids! Grand Lake is hosting thousands of student anglers from nearly every state (and a few countries) as they vie for a record $3.8 million in scholarships and prizes in the High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship. Boats launch for the final time on Friday morning at 5:30 a.m. with free, public weigh-ins at 1:30 p.m. happening today (Thursday!) and Friday. So swing by Wolf Creek Park and cheer on the teens, and watch the biggest bass-fishing payday in high-school sports unfold right here at Grand.

Grand Jam on Grand Lake - The annual Grand Jam Music Festival moves from the land of Grand Meridian Resort to the waters of Grand Lake this year. Happening Saturday from Noon to 6, there is a full lineup of great music, plus a bikini contest and a 6-pack abs contest. It’s is going to be a huge party in Duck Creek out in front of Harbors View Marina and The Blind Swine. Click HERE for more details.

Formula Rendezvous - Formula owners—unite! Cruise into Honey Creek Landing Marina on Saturday, for Iguana Marine Group’s 1st Annual Formula Rendezvous. Grab lunch at The Drunken Rooster (noon–2 PM), snag your exclusive gift when you sign up, then raft-up in Elm Branch Cove for an afternoon of floating fun with fellow Formula fans. Great boats, great bites, even better company—see you on the water!

Market Season - More and more summertime treats are showing up at the farmer’s markets. 9 am is the start time for both the Grove Farmer’s Market on the Community Center Lawn and the Saturday Morning Market in Langley next to Reasor’s.

Library - New month means new things at the Grove Public Library. Check out the June Calendar of Events HERE.

Shorts & Business Shoutouts

• Friday & Saturday, there is “Lawn-a-Thon” inflatable fun for the kids on The Anchor Lawn at Shangri-La (11:00-5:00).

• Saturday is another Peanut Regatta from Grand Lake Sailing Club.

• Dickson Marine on Hwy 125 towards Monkey Island is hosting an Unsinkable Sales Event on Saturday with food trucks and 99.3 KGVE will be live.

• Get on the water with Chill Waters Paddle Company! On Monday mornings they’ve got an AWESOME paddleboard FLOW that they do in Grove, but Alexis also offers group paddleboard rentals, lessons, and more, wherever you are on Grand Lake.
