Goooood Morning!
And just like that, it is June at Grand Lake, and all that comes with it.
Like the Big Bass Bash this weekend, Toes in the Grand next weekend, and, before you know it, the 4th of July.
Awesome.
But, about this weekend…
The Big Bass Bash is the biggest tournament of the year on the lake in terms of numbers. That’s because it is not open to the pros, only all of us amateur anglers who think we know a thing or 2.
There are more details below, but, as always, keep that head on a swivel. There are going to be more folks out on the water this weekend in those bass boats, and a lot of them aren’t really familiar with our waters.
But that isn’t the only thing happening this weekend, so let’s get to it… here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake!

Lake Level - The lake level as of 9 am is 744.8’ with no gates open and ongoing generation. Lake surface temps are easing into the low 70s. Warmer in spots.
Food Truck Friday - It is Food Truck Friday on Friday night in Downtown Grove from 5 to 9 pm. Food trucks, live music, games, and fun for the whole family. See you there!
First Friday Wine Share - The first Friday of the month also means it is Wine Share time in Grove, this month at Classy & Sassy Boutique in the Shops at Grand Meridian in Cleora. As always… from 5 to 6:30, bring a glass, your favorite bottle, and maybe an appetizer to share with the group. Always a great time.
Ribbon Cutting - Dripping Springs Yacht Club and Marina, which has been under new ownership and undergoing extensive renovations since last summer, will have a ribbon cutting celebration with the South Grand Chamber on Friday at 5:30. Come by land or by Grand… it sounds like they are going to have a party!
Big Bass Bash - THE biggest fish wins you a lot of money. And a lot of other fish will win a lot of you money as well, all weekend long. Well, Saturday and Sunday. All of the rules, registrations, and details - including online registration - can be found HERE.
Fairy Festival - Lendonwood Gardens is hosting their 3rd Annual Fairy Festival this Saturday from 11 to 4 at 1308 Har-Ber Road in Grove. Costumes are encouraged, and kids can expect face painting, fairy crafts, free wings, a magician, a fairy boutique, and free refreshments. Tickets are just $5 — and heads up, there's a new entrance this year with shuttle access only. They will point you in the right direction when you get there.
Roper Romp - Also happening this Saturday, Second Chance Pet Rescue is hosting their 2nd Annual Romp Romp — a pub crawl by boat on Grand Lake, departing from Honey Creek Landing Marina starting at 11:30am. Registration is $25 and includes water transport, a goodie bag, a raffle ticket, and access to all the festivities including door prizes, games, and the "Best Dressed Romper" and "Sassiest Romper" contests. A note about the weather… check the Second Chance Facebook page for updates on Friday evening to see if launch events get moved to Juan Montez.
Farmer’s Markets - The Grove Farmer’s Market happens Saturday morning from 8 to 1 on the Downtown Square. And, the Saturday Morning Market has returned in Langley! Happening from 9 to Noon, right next to Reasor’s. And… Piguet’s Farm Store is open this weekend until 2 on Saturday.
Vinita Route 66 Celebration - Vinita is celebrating 100 years of the Mother Road this weekend with a massive two-day festival featuring 200+ classic cars, hot air balloon tethered rides, free live music, food trucks, a giant Hot Wheels track, a LEGO art contest, and more. It's happening right in downtown Vinita — the oldest town on Oklahoma's stretch of Route 66. Get your kicks!
Ribs For Kids - Here's a delicious way to do some good before the Fourth — Ribs for Kids is back, offering freshly smoked St. Louis style ribs for $30 a rack (or round up to $35 and every dollar above $30 gets matched). Orders must be in by June 12th, with pickup available July 1–3 at the Grove Public School Administration Parking Lot on S. Broadway. Order online or stop by the Grove YMCA.
