Gooood Morning!

Just another beautiful run of Fall weather we’ve had, as some leaves are starting to fly and we are getting some hints of color out there.

And, of course, with Fall comes some cool rains, and it looks like we’ll have those for the next couple of days - but should end up being a beautiful weekend at the lake. Hoodie weather!

For you Monkey Islanders, the ‘causeway’ is down to 1 lane while they improve things and they are hoping to have it back to the regular 2-lane traffic by Thanksgiving.

Anyway, I’ve got to get out the door this morning, so here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake!

This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level - The lake level as of 7 am is 742’ on the dot. These cooler mornings have the lake temp dropping into the 60s pretty much all over.

Last (Almost) Friday Wine Share - With Halloween next Friday, the Vinita Wine Share group decided to move things up and wrap up the month with good company at the Last Friday Wine Share THIS Friday night at Beau’s Deli & Market in Langley. Bring a bottle of wine, a small snack to share, and your favorite glass for a relaxed, come-and-go evening of sipping, snacking, and socializing. Open to anyone 21+—it’s the perfect way to sip, share, and support local!

Oktoberfest on The Island - Grab your friends and head to South 125 Bar & Grill for the Heart of Monkey Island Oktoberfest, happening Saturday from 11 to 3. Enjoy brats, dogs, Polish sausages, pretzels with beer cheese, and cold drinks—all while raising money for Christmas for the Kiddos. Don’t miss the fun, live music from Erin Fitzgibbon, and the fun fundraising auction at 1 PM!

Santa’s Farm Fest & Craft Fair - Kick off the holidays with two days of festive fun at McCorkle Family Farm & Pumpkin Patch in Grove this Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy fall photo ops, pumpkin patch adventures, farm activities, and shop from a great lineup of holiday vendors with seasonal treats and unique gifts. You might even spot Santa himself—it’s the perfect blend of fall fun and Christmas magic!

Fall Workday - Roll up your sleeves and help keep Lendonwood Gardens beautiful at the annual Fall Workday on Saturday. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in from 8:30 a.m. to around 2 p.m., with coffee, donuts, and lunch provided. No gardening experience needed—just a willingness to pitch in and have fun! In case of rain, the workday will be held October 31. More Info

Customer Appreciation Hog Roast - Join the celebration at Juan Montez Restaurant & Bar this Saturday, Oct. 25, for a lakeside Customer Appreciation Party & Hog Roast starting at 3 PM, celebrating many more years to come at Red Arrow Marina! Enjoy great food, cold drinks, and live music from Rodney Frye (4–7 PM) and Erica (8 PM–midnight). Bring your chairs and cornhole boards for a fun, relaxed evening on the water—no outside alcohol, please.

Persnickety, The Sequal - Get ready for laughs and a little small-town drama as Persnickety, the Sequel takes the stage at Har-Ber Village! Find out what happens next with Carl, Betty, and the gang in this delightful follow-up to the original hit. Performances are set for Thursday (tonight!) at 7 PM; Friday at 7 PM; Sunday at 2 PM; and Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 PM. Tickets are just $15, and proceeds support Har-Ber Village. Lori Fullbright in Grove - Join the Grand Lake Family YMCA for an inspiring afternoon with Emmy-winning News on 6 anchor Lori Fullbright, sharing “Important Life Lessons I’ve Learned Reporting on the Crime Beat.” The event takes place Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 1 PM at Church on the Hill, with lunch served at 12:30 PM.
