This Weekend at Grand Lake - Oct 31, 2024
And the holiday shopping season is ON!
Gooood Morning!
BOO! Did I scare you? Eh, probably not, but I do think that storm rolling up through Afton, Fairland, and Wyandotte got your attention last night. Hope all is well for those who might have been impacted.
Alrighty then, it’s Halloween (!), and it is another busy fall weekend here at the lake.
The weather looks like it will be awesome for the next few days until sometime Saturday when the wet stuff moves in. But, we need it. So, we’ll deal with it.
As I’ve shared before, I’m working through updating the website, page by page, and one of the pages I’ve recently updated is the boat and marine service and repair page.
Along with today’s Featured Sponsor below, you might want to check out that page as it is about time to get that boat winterized, if that is something you do.
Let’s get to it… a lot to get to on this Halloween morning — here is what you need to know for this weekend at Grand Lake!
Trouble on the Water?
Emergencies - Dial 911
Tow Boat US Grand Lake - (918) 782-8600
GRDA Non-Emergency - (918) 256-0911
GRDA Lake Rules, updated 9/22

Lake Level - As of 9 am, the Grand Lake level is 741.76’ with no generation. Surface water temps are down to the mid to upper 60s.
Wolf Creek Harvest Fest - Tonight (Thursday… Halloween!) is Wolf Creek Harvest Fest at Wolf Creek Park in Grove from 6 to 8:30 pm. Join the Grove community in a safe and fun-filled evening brought to you by local churches, nonprofits, and businesses. Perfect for families looking to celebrate Halloween in a welcoming environment. There will be 17 vendors on hand including 2 food trucks. Plus 4 inflatables including axe throwing, bounce house, bungie basketball, and obstacle course.
Trick or Trunk or Treats - Lots of Halloween fun for the kids tonight. Keep in mind, most churches will be having a Trunk or Treat, and the Grove Chamber/Downtown Merchants will be handing out candy all day as well. Plus, just about every business all over. Anyway, here just a couple of other things happening:
Grove Chamber Halloween Open House from 10 am to 2 pm
Patricia Island Estates in Grove is always a popular destination. They have things organized and there will be just one flow of traffic through the neighborhood and area kids should score BIG TIME here.
Integris Grove Hospital is hosting a Trunk or Treat in the north parking lot starting at 4 pm.
Langley City Park will host a Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 pm.
Parts City in Langley is hosting a Trunk or Treat Block Party with several local businesses starting at 6 pm
First Friday Wine Share - The First Friday Wine Share makes its way to Monkey Island this month, with a Friday evening gathering starting at 6 pm at VIP Skin Care. Just bring yourself, a glass, a bottle to share and maybe even a snack to share and enjoy the company. All are welcome!
Fall Shop, Hop, and (Art) Walk - So, I’ve got to tell you… I’m a little confused at what all is happening at South Grand Lake on Saturday. It seems like there are 2 separate, maybe competing, shopping events happening? I’m not sure. So, I’ll just tell you about both… first, there is something called the Fall Into Holidaze event, and then, second, is the Fall Shop and Hop event. Click those links to see the flyer for each one. It seems like, between the 2, that just about all of the local shops and places to stop in the South Grand Lake area are participating. Oh… and as a part of it all, there is also an Art Walk at the new Lakeland Trading Company in Downtown Langley.
Second Chance - It’s time for another Second Chance Pet Rescue Thrift Shop Garage Sale on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm (weather permitting) at 220 E. 3rd St in Grove. Support a great cause as all proceeds from this event will benefit the Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake in Grove, OK. Enjoy shopping for treasures while helping animals in need.
Murder Mystery - Death of a Gangster, a murder mystery dinner, happens Saturday night at Shangri-La. Get all the details, including how you can get tickets (if it is not soldout) HERE.
Library Happenings - There is always something happening at the Grove Public Library. Check out the October (and hopefully November) Calendar of Events HERE.
