This Weekend at Grand Lake - August 1, 2024

On to August!

Good Morning!

Well, did you download the app? Did it go smoothly?

I heard from a couple of you that it did go smoothly, and didn’t get any negative feedback. So, that’s good. I think.

And for those of you who did download the app… maybe you got a notification on your phone about this newsletter going live?

Let me know… and more updates and improvements are on the horizon.

I’ve added a section down at the bottom of the email with details on the app and how to download, if you haven’t already.

Anyhoo, August rolls on at the lake, and I’ve got a lot to get to, so, let’s do that… here is what you need to know for this weekend (and beyond!) at Grand Lake:

Trouble On The Water?

  • Emergencies - Dial 911

  • Tow Boat US Grand Lake - (918) 782-8600

  • GRDA Non-Emergency - (918) 256-0911

  • GRDA Lake Rules, updated 9/22

Today’s Sponsor:

Discover the perfect getaway at The Grand Lake Cabins, formerly The Casitas at Grand Lake, nestled in the trees near Duck Creek and The Coves.

Under new ownership and recently renovated, these charming rental cabins are fully equipped with modern amenities and are ideal for families, couples, or even solo travelers seeking a quiet retreat at the lake.

Enjoy a rustic atmosphere with all the comforts of home, just minutes away from all that Grand Lake has to offer.

Whether you’re looking to relax or explore, The GrandLake Cabins provide an exceptional escape.

Visit the Grand Lake Cabins website to see the cabins and check availability.

Lake Level - As of 8 am, the lake level is 744 with minimal generation and no gates open. The lake is summertime warm, with surface temps in the 80s all over.

Food Truck Friday - It’s the final Food Truck Friday of the year in Grove, starting at 5 pm on the Community Center Lawn. D.J. Gragg Band will be performing live, all of your favorite food trucks will be on hand, and fun for the whole family.

Appreciation! - Saturday is Customer Appreciation Day at Grand Lake Boat Sales and Hi-Lift Marina in Drowning Creek. Whether you are a customer yet or not, come on! Live music from Whiskey Poet Society from Noon to 3 pm along with some FREE food (dogs and burgers, I believe), plus cold drinks and good times. Come by land or by Grand, drop that anchor, and enjoy!

Birthday Party - Everyone is invited to Laralee’s 50th Birthday Party, happening Saturday at Stony Point, which is across the lake from the Monkey Island airport. There is a Dock-Cove-DJ Raft-Out party starting at Noon, and then at 8 pm, the Aces Wild Band will rock the point. It’s a Grand Lake party and everyone is invited. Shuttle boats will be running from The Landings Marina to the party (and back, I’m guessing).

Booster Club Golf - The Ketchum Booster Club’s annual fundraiser golf tournament is Saturday morning at The Coves. I’m not sure if they have room for more golfers or not, but if you are interested, click HERE for details and contact info.

Glorious! - “GLORIOUS! The True Story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the Worst Singer in the World” is getting RAVE reviews and closes out its run at Grove Community Playmakers this week with performances tonight and Friday night and Saturday night at 7:30 and Sunday at 2 pm. Don’t miss it!! For reservations and information: Leave message at 918 786 8950 or [email protected].

Yoga on the Island - LiveBliss is excited to announce the opening of a new studio at The Layk Schoolhouse on Monkey Island, offering yoga sessions throughout the week. For the most current schedule, visit the website at livebliss.org. The unlimited yoga offer for $45 a month is still available!
